New Theme
I’ve made a new theme for my blog. It’s based on the default wordpress theme. The styles are, however, significantly altered.
I’d like to hear (well, read) other peoples comments, so if you have anything you’d like to say about my theme, or any suggestions, then click the comments link beneath this post. Oh, and I already know about a 1px ‘margin’ on the left in IE. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix that I’d really like to hear about it!
Oh, and also if anything broke in IE from the last tweeks I made.
Looks perfect in Firefox on Linux
Actually, one thing with the side-bar. My eyes do find it a bit confusing to read text on top of other text. Perhaps if the background text was a bit blurred or something it would be less confusing for my eyes…
I found the sidebar fine… up until I added the tag cloud. With the more chaotic structure the background text was getting confused with the tags themselves. In any case I just uploaded a new background image. I think the blurred version is just as visually effective, as well as easier to read over.
your blog site looks good but what is going on behind the right side nav? it looks like a css syle sheet is it supposed to be there?
I still can’t get connected to word press, don’t know what went wrong there.
BUT……… when we uploaded not using an ftp programme i managed somehow to upload files to my wordpress file?????? am i confused …yes!!!
does that make sense?
i really admire your knowledge it is fantastic.
I enjoy web design and find it so fascinating. I have been getting up now some mornings at 4.30 to work on my mac mini. just like Dolly Parton and Rolf Harris!! but i don’t write songs or paint the Queen.
You can always access the wordpress files through ftp. The only thing you can’t do without the wordpress passwords is run the wordpress backend. It may be wise to remove the wordpress files (making sure you know what’s in the config text file) and make a new copy.
The blurred out text in the sidebar is from a javascript exercise, and includes javascript, CSS and XHTML.
