Over the break I tried out a number of web apps and started on a project of my own. Oh, and got some classwork done too. Of course. (ehheheheheh).

SlimTimer: This is a handy timekeeper app. The actual timer part sits in a small, narrow window of it’s own (hence the name). This is particularly useful for me, as I keep some space over the side of my screen clear of my main applications. Less useful to those who are married to full-screen mode.
Google Docs and Spreadsheets: Google Docs was Writely before. Now both these apps are out of beta and are accessible from the one pane.
Google Reader: Much like Bloglines, but with more, well, style, I guess.
Basecamp: Most of us know it. I set up my own account so I could use it with the Basecamp Dashboard Widget
Speaking of dashboard widgets, Dolor Sit Amet is a handy Lorem Ipsum generator, for filler text, In The Know is the best RSS reader widget I’ve found, and Weather Australia and Degrees Down Under are handy for local weather.
Fire Cross is a really impressive medley of tunes from Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger.
I’ve got my paws on a copy of Windows XP. I’ll install it on my MacBook Pro with Boot Camp once the latter finishes downloading.
Finally, I’ve got some hosting with Servage, and have started on my own site: Ogremindes.net
